CYPA History

CYPA has delivered social and formal educational services to the black and minotiy ethnic community primarily in Southwark but also neighbouring boroughs for over 26 years. The association has provided a variety of services to meet the identified needs of the community. These services have included; Holiday Playschemes for children from low income households since 1986. The Alphabet Pre-School (TAPS), working with children 2-5 years whose parents participated on the Teachers Aide Scheme.

The Alphabet Pre-School was provided with support from BBC Children in Need and Help a London Child. The Association Provided After School Classes for school aged children with support from the City Parochial. From the year 2000 to Present the association has delivered the Face To Face Connections project with formal education classes in; GCSE Math & Numeracy, GCSE English and Literacy also Level 1 & 2 Information and Communication Technology (ICT), BTEC Science and Sports Leadership along with Careers Guidance, to children aged 13 - 19 from Southwark, Lewisham, Lambeth and Croydon who are Not in Education, Employment or Training, (NEET).
